Sloan Carroll Rainwater

Sloan Carroll Rainwater’s work embodies this spirit of capturing the ordinary in a most extraordinary way. A rock and roll “lifer”, Sloan grew up in southern California listening to loud music and skateboarding way too much. Documenting the madness of rock clubs and music venues while capturing the energy she felt there, was the foundation of her early work. Her eye for pitting light versus shadow soon found its way into cityscapes, landscapes, and photographs of damn near anything she sees, including her “drive-by photographs.” Today Sloan calls Decatur, Georgia home where she lives with her two frequently photographed pups, Clara Belle and Z-Boy.
